Problem

Use the graph below to report an \(x\text{-}\text{coordinate}\) bracket no wider than \(0.5~\text{units}\) and a \(y\text{-}\text{coordinate}\) bracket no wider than \(1~\text{unit}\) that contain the intersection.

What this problem is really about

The graph gives an estimate, so the goal is to enclose the crossing rather than claim more precision than the scale supports. We’ll read the horizontal and vertical coordinates separately, build an interval around each one, and subtract each pair of endpoints to verify the permitted widths. Keeping horizontal information in the x-bracket prevents the two coordinate ranges from being reversed.
