Use a table to locate where two functions are equal
Problem
Use the comparison table below. Report an exact equality row when present; otherwise report an adjacent order-reversal bracket and the function order at each endpoint. Do not assume continuity.
We’ll compare the two output columns at each common input, first looking for a row where the values are exactly equal. If no row matches, adjacent inputs where the functions reverse order form a candidate crossing bracket rather than an exact solution. That reversal guarantees an actual crossing only when continuity on the interval is known, so the table evidence must be reported with the proper qualification.
