Problem

Find the intersections of the linear function \(y~=~x~+~2\) and quadratic function \(y~=~x^2~-~2x~-~2\).

What this problem is really about

A line and a quadratic can meet more than once, so we have to account for every shared input. We’ll set their output expressions equal, move everything into a zero-product equation, and keep every root produced by factoring. Each root then goes back into a source rule to find its shared output, turning the inputs into complete intersection points that can be checked on both graphs.
