Graph linear inequalities and systems of linear inequalities as half-plane solution regions.
Use a test point to decide shading
Problem
Use test point \((0,0)\) for \(y>2x+1\).
Big Picture
What this problem is really about
A test point decides between the two sides of a boundary only after substitution. We’ll place its y-coordinate on the left, use its x-coordinate in the entire expression on the right, and evaluate the resulting comparison. If the statement is true, its side is included; if it is false, the opposite side is the solution region, so the rule must not be applied backward.
