Problem

For \(4(x+3)\), representing \(4\) identical bags each with \(x\) pencils and \(3\) pens, identify group count, group unit, and per-group expression.

What this problem is really about

Parentheses mark one complete group, while the outside factor tells how many identical copies of that group occur. We’ll interpret the contents inside first, then read the factor as a repeated-group count and expand to a repeated sum as a check. The expansion must scale every kind of item in the group.
