Problem

For subexpression \((1.06)^t\) in \(400(1.06)^t\) after \(t\) years, identify per-period factor, number/unit of periods, accumulated multiplier, role, and units.

What this problem is really about

An exponential subexpression can be treated as one accumulated scale factor. We’ll interpret the base as a one-period multiplier, connect the exponent to the number of equal periods, and expand conceptually as repeated multiplication. Separating that dimensionless factor from the outside initial amount prevents it from being confused with the final dollar output.
