Build an explicit proportional function
Problem
Each ticket costs \(\$9\). Write an explicit proportional function for total cost and define the variables.
Big Picture
What this problem is really about
A proportional model has no separate starting amount: the total comes entirely from equal contributions per input unit. We’ll define ticket count as the input and total cost as the output, multiply the per-ticket rate by the count, and track the units through that product. Testing an input of zero confirms whether an unsupported fixed term has slipped in.
