What this problem is really about

Interval notation packages three graph decisions into two delimiters. We’ll decode the left and right symbols separately to determine whether each boundary is included, convert those decisions into strict or non-strict inequalities, and then connect the endpoints with one continuous segment. Reading each delimiter next to its own boundary prevents the endpoint styles from being reversed.
