Use the table below to identify the consecutive-input interval with the greatest average rate of change.

What this problem is really about

The greatest ending output does not necessarily identify the greatest average rate. We’ll form a rate for each consecutive pair of table rows, using its own output change divided by its own input change, and then compare the quotients. Since the input steps here are equal, the largest vertical change will correspond to the steepest consecutive interval.
