Problem

A non-square rectangle has adjacent side lengths \(L\) and \(W\) with \(L\ne~W\). Is reflection across either diagonal a symmetry?

What this problem is really about

A proposed reflection must preserve lengths and vertex adjacencies everywhere, so one local mismatch is enough to disprove it. Track where a long side would land after folding across the diagonal; if that position is occupied by a short side, the proposal can work only under an additional side-length condition.
