Define rotations, reflections, and translations using geometric language: angles, circles, perpendicular/parallel lines, and segments.

Construct an image point from the geometric definition of reflection

Problem

Find the image of point \((5,~1)\) under reflection over the line \(x~=~2\).

Big Picture

What this problem is really about

Construct a reflection from its geometry: the mirror line must perpendicularly bisect the segment from a point to its image. Because this mirror is vertical, preserve the vertical coordinate, measure the source’s horizontal distance to the line, and place the image the same distance beyond the line on the opposite side.
