Problem

Find the perimeter of the rectangle with vertices \(A(0,~0)\), \(B(6,~0)\), \(C(6,~4)\), and \(D(0,~4)\).

What this problem is really about

Measure one horizontal side and one vertical side from absolute coordinate differences, then use the rectangle’s opposite-side equality. Perimeter counts the boundary, so double the sum of those adjacent lengths; multiplying them would answer a different question about the interior.
