Represent one-variable data with dot plots, histograms, and box plots.

Create a dot plot from a small data set

Problem

Construct the dot plot for data \({2,2,3,5,5,5,6}\) using axis ticks \(2~\text{through}~6~by~1\). Give the axis ticks, count at each tick, total dots, and maximum stack.

Big Picture

What this problem is really about

Build a frequency tally across every equally spaced axis value, including positions with zero observations so gaps remain visible. Convert each tally into that many stacked dots, then add all stack heights and compare the total with the original number of observations to catch omissions or duplicates.
