Problem

For \(P(t)=1000(1.04)^t\), \(t\) is whole years after deposit, identify exponent variable, interval unit, count meaning, number/factor applied, and meaning of exponent\(0\).

The exponent counts completed intervals and therefore counts how many copies of the growth factor are applied. We’ll connect one unit of the exponent to one year, describe the repeated multiplication, and handle the zero-interval case with the zero-exponent rule so it returns the initial amount rather than zero.
