Find the midpoint of the segment with endpoints \((0,0)\) and \((6,8)\).

What this problem is really about

A midpoint is halfway in both coordinate directions, so the two coordinates must be averaged separately. We’ll average the endpoint x-values, average the endpoint y-values, combine those results into one point, and verify it by showing the directed displacement into the point matches the displacement out of it.
