Verify that dilations scale line segments by the dilation scale factor.
Verify that all sides of a polygon scale equally under dilation
Problem
Do these corresponding polygon sides show a dilation? Original triangle side lengths \(3,~4,~\text{and}~5\) map to image side lengths \(6,~8,~\text{and}~10\).
A dilation must use one multiplicative factor across every corresponding side, not one additive increase. We’ll align the side pairs in matching order, compute each image-to-original ratio independently, check that every ratio is the same positive constant, and multiply the originals forward to verify the complete image list.
