Problem
Use the Venn diagram to add the \(A\text{-}\text{only}\), overlap, and \(B\text{-}\text{only}\) counts \(12+8+10\), then divide by the total \(50\) to find \(P(A~\text{or}~B)\).
A Venn union is the three disjoint regions inside at least one circle. We’ll add A-only, overlap, and B-only once each, exclude the outside region from the numerator while using it in the total, reduce the union fraction, and convert it to a decimal check.
