Add, subtract, and multiply polynomials beyond quadratic cases.

Multiply a monomial by a polynomial using the distributive property

Problem

Expand \(3x^2(2x^4~-~x~+~5)\).

Big Picture

What this problem is really about

This product uses distribution: the monomial outside the parentheses must multiply every term inside. For each product, we’ll multiply the numerical coefficients and add exponents on matching x factors, while carrying each sign carefully. Once all three products are written, they already form the expanded polynomial.
