Graph behavior at a zero comes from the parity of its multiplicity. We’ll locate the zero on the x-axis, classify multiplicity 1 as odd, and use the polynomial’s sign on the two sides to determine whether the curve passes through or turns back. The size of the multiplicity also tells us whether any flattening is expected.
