Problem

A \(120\text{-}\text{mile}\) trip is traveled at speed \(x\) with time \(y\). Write a rational equation relating \(x\) and \(y\), including the physical domain.

What this problem is really about

Anchor the model in distance equals speed times time, with the trip distance fixed. Solving that relationship for time puts speed in the denominator, which captures the inverse tradeoff: higher speed means less time. The algebra excludes zero speed, and the travel context narrows the model further to physically meaningful speed and time.
