Factor \(x^3~+~27\) completely as a sum of cubes.

What this problem is really about

Before using a cube identity, rewrite both terms explicitly as perfect cubes. For a sum, the binomial keeps the plus sign, while the quadratic factor uses a negative middle term and positive square terms. That alternating sign is what makes the mixed terms cancel when the factors are expanded.
