Classify and repair a misleading statistical presentation
Problem
The displayed weekly-orders bar chart shows \(\text{East}~=~98\) and \(\text{West}~=~102\) on a \(y\text{-}\text{axis}\) starting at \(90\). Evaluate how the scale represents the \(4\text{-}\text{order}\) difference and propose a repair.
Compare what the graphic's geometry implies with the relationship in the raw values. For bars, a truncated baseline changes visible lengths to distances above that baseline and can make a small numerical difference look proportionally large, even when labels are accurate. Repair the display with a zero baseline or an unmistakably disclosed break, and report the underlying values clearly.
