Find factors, multiples, common factors, and common multiples to solve numerical and contextual problems.
Translate a representation into factors
Problem
A set of rectangle arrays for \(24\) tiles is shown: \(1\) row of \(24\), \(2\) rows of \(12\), \(3\) rows of \(8\), and \(4\) rows of \(6\). Use these arrays to write the complete list of factors of \(24\).
Each tile array turns a picture into a multiplication fact: rows times columns equals twenty-four. We’ll read both dimensions from every rectangle, collect both members of each factor pair, remove repeats, and order the result. Taking only rows or only columns would discard half of the factor information shown.
