Big Picture

What this problem is really about

The last digit in zero point three seven five is in the thousandths place, which gives a natural fraction before simplification. We’ll write that place-value fraction, divide numerator and denominator by their greatest common factor, and multiply the decimal by one hundred for percent form. Converting both results back to the original decimal checks the equivalence.
