Problem

Represent \(3~\text{out}~\text{of}~8\) as a simplified fraction, a decimal, and a percent, and identify percent as the report's target form.

Big Picture

What this problem is really about

The phrase three out of eight identifies part over whole, and the strip confirms that same relationship. We’ll check whether the fraction is already simplified, divide numerator by denominator for the decimal, and multiply by one hundred for the percent. The family-summary cue also tells us which equivalent form should be emphasized in the report.
