Generate and justify equivalent ratios using scaling, tables, and diagrams.
Check an equivalent-ratio claim
Problem
A table starts with \(\text{juice}:\text{water}~=~4:6\) and another row is \(10:15\). Classify the equivalence claim and give the second row if correct or a corrected row if incorrect.
Big Picture
What this problem is really about
The rows list juice first and water second, so their corresponding entries can be tested directly. We’ll find the factor from four parts juice to ten, apply that same factor to six parts water, and compare with the claimed water entry. Simplifying both rows to a common ratio gives a second way to judge the claim.
