Plot, read, and interpret points in all four quadrants on the coordinate plane.
Translate movement into coordinates
Problem
A point is \(6~\text{units}\) left and \(2~\text{units}\) up from the origin. Write its ordered pair and classify its quadrant.
Big Picture
What this problem is really about
Separate horizontal and vertical movement before writing the point. Left supplies a negative x-coordinate first, and up supplies a positive y-coordinate second. Once the ordered pair is formed, use its sign pattern to identify the quadrant and check that the classification agrees with the described directions.
