Identify a trend
Problem
Use the graph segment between \(x~=~1\) and \(x~=~4\). As \(x\) moves \(\text{from}~1~\text{to}~4\), is \(y\) increasing, decreasing, or staying constant?
Focus only on the segment between the two specified x-values and trace it from left to right. Read the y-value at each endpoint, then compare the ending output with the starting output. A larger ending y means increasing, a smaller one means decreasing, and equal endpoint levels would indicate a constant segment.
