Generate and plot ordered pairs from rules, tables, and contexts.
Choose the coordinates that really fit
Problem
Evaluate \(y~=~x~+~4\) when \(x~=~3\) and report the resulting ordered pair.
Big Picture
What this problem is really about
Start with the given x-value because it determines the first coordinate and the rule determines the second. Substitute that input into the expression, compute the corresponding y-value, and then write the pair in x–y order. Keeping evaluation separate from coordinate order prevents the constant in the rule from being mistaken for a coordinate.
