Problem

Calculate the rate in each table and report the complete set of labels with a rate of \(6~\text{miles}~\text{per}~\text{hour}\).

A. Hours \(1,~2,~3\) map to miles \(8,~13,~18\).
B. Hours \(1,~2,~3\) map to miles \(6,~12,~18\).
C. Hours \(2,~4,~6\) map to miles \(10,~22,~34\).

What this problem is really about

Raw distance changes cannot be compared until their matching time intervals are included. For each table, subtract two mile values and the corresponding hour values in the same order, divide miles by hours, and reduce to a one-hour rate. Normalizing every table prevents a two-hour change from being mistaken for a per-hour value.
