Problem

A triangle has a base of \(10~\text{inches}\) and a height of \(6~\text{inches}\). Find its area.

What this problem is really about

A triangle occupies half of a parallelogram with the same base and perpendicular height. Multiply those two measurements to form the corresponding full area, then apply the one-half factor exactly once and attach square-inch units. The height must be the perpendicular distance from the base, not simply any slanted side.
