Problem

A cylinder has radius \(5~\text{cm}\) and height \(12~\text{cm}\). Write an expression for its volume.

What this problem is really about

A valid cylinder-volume setup must show circular base area multiplied by height. Put the radius, not the height, in the squared factor, retain pi as part of the base area, and use the perpendicular height as a separate multiplier. Circumference-times-height and sums of exterior areas describe surfaces rather than inside space.
