Problem

A cylindrical soup can has radius \(4~\text{cm}\) and height \(11~\text{cm}\). Calculate its inside volume.

What this problem is really about

Capacity asks for the can’s interior space, so build the cylinder from a circular base area extended through its height. Square the given radius, multiply by pi for one layer, and then multiply by the height for the whole can. Retaining pi gives an exact value, and the final units must be cubic centimeters.
