Read and compare dot plots, histograms, and box plots to describe center, spread, and shape.

Find every display that matches a target feature

Problem

The target is a distribution with median \(\text{about}~20\) and small spread. Treat small spread as an interquartile range \(\text{less}~\text{than}~8\) or, for a dot plot, \(\text{most}~\text{data}\) lying within \(\text{about}~7~\text{units}\) of the median. Evaluate candidates A–E, then report the \(\text{complete}~\text{matching}~\text{set}\).

A. A box plot has minimum \(15\), \(Q_{1}\) \(18\), median \(20\), \(Q_{3}\) \(23\), maximum \(25\).
B. A box plot has minimum \(4\), \(Q_{1}\) \(12\), median \(20\), \(Q_{3}\) \(29\), maximum \(36\).
C. A dot plot is tightly clustered from \(17~\text{to}~23\), with the middle \(\text{around}~20\).
D. A display has median \(\text{about}~25\), with the \(\text{middle}~\text{half}\) from \(22~\text{to}~27\).
E. A display has median \(\text{about}~20\), with the \(\text{middle}~\text{half}\) from \(16~\text{to}~24\).
