Read and compare dot plots, histograms, and box plots to describe center, spread, and shape.

Find every display that matches a target feature

Problem

Evidence of an outlier requires a value far from the \(\text{rest}~\text{of}~\text{the}~\text{data}\) and separated by a noticeable gap; wide spread alone does not qualify. Evaluate candidates A–E, then report the \(\text{complete}~\text{matching}~\text{set}\).

A. A dot plot has most values \(\text{from}~40~\text{to}~52\) and \(\text{one}~\text{point}\) at \(71\), with \(\text{no}~\text{points}\) \(\text{from}~53~\text{to}~70\).
B. A histogram has data gradually spread \(\text{from}~10~\text{to}~40\) across \(\text{many}~\text{bins}\), with \(\text{no}~\text{isolated}~\text{bar}\) or gap.
C. A box plot has a point beyond the right whisker at \(98\), while the \(\text{rest}~\text{of}~\text{the}~\text{data}\) lie below \(72\).
D. A display has data \(\text{from}~5~\text{to}~95\), evenly spread across that interval.
E. A dot plot has values \(\text{from}~18~\text{to}~32\) with several points near \(\text{both}~\text{ends}\), but \(\text{no}~\text{separated}~\text{value}\).
